Who We Are

Student Trajectory is a test score tracking service that tutoring companies use to support their students' academic preparation. It is operated by Achieve Tutorials, LLC, doing business as Student Trajectory, of Los Angeles, California ("we," "us," or "our"). Our contact information: support@student-trajectory.com.

What Information We Collect

We collect and store the following personal information about students whose tutoring company uses Student Trajectory:

  • Identity information: first name, last name, graduation year
  • Contact information: student email address, parent/guardian email address
  • Academic records: standardized test scores (ACT, SAT, and practice tests), test dates, section scores, the answer given to each question, and tutor notes
  • Account information: for staff users — name, email address, and password (stored scrambled, so that no one can read it)

We do not take payments yet. When we do, card payments will be handled by Stripe, a payment company. Card details go straight to Stripe and are never stored by Student Trajectory. We do not collect social security numbers or government-issued ID numbers through this system.

How We Use This Information

Information collected in this system is used exclusively to:

  • Track and analyze student academic progress over time
  • Identify areas for focused study and tutoring
  • Share score reports with students and parents/guardians
  • Support tutors in delivering personalized instruction

We do not use student data for marketing, advertising, or any purpose unrelated to academic tutoring services. There is no advertising in Student Trajectory, and no artificial intelligence (AI) runs inside it.

Who Has Access

Access to student records is strictly limited:

  • Administrators have full access to all student records within the organization
  • Tutors have access only to the records of students assigned to them
  • College counselors have access only to students who have started the college questionnaire. For those students they can see and work on the questionnaire, college lists and college matches, including any private topic the family has chosen to share with the tutoring company (such as finances or health needs). They can read those students' scores and reports but cannot enter or change test results; the only other thing they can change is which test dates the student is registered for.
  • Students (if given a login) have access only to their own records
  • Parent/client accounts have access only to records of students explicitly linked to their account

No student data is accessible to other students or to the general public.

Third-Party Services

We use these companies to run the service:

  • Fly.io runs the software and stores the database, in the United States.
  • Backblaze stores our nightly backups, in the United States. The backups are encrypted (locked so that only we can open them).
  • Postmark delivers the emails the service sends, such as score reports. It receives the email addresses and the messages.
  • Google Workspace hosts our support mailbox, support@student-trajectory.com.
  • Stripe, a payment company, will handle card payments when we take them. Card details go straight to Stripe and are never stored by Student Trajectory.

A tutoring company may also use its own scheduling system, such as TeachWorks. That system is the company's supplier, not ours. It exchanges records with Student Trajectory only when the company tells it to: for example, TeachWorks receives scores only if the company switches that on.

We never sell personal information. We do not rent or share student personal information with any third party for commercial purposes.

Data Retention

Student records are retained for as long as the student is active in our system. Administrators may archive or delete student records at any time. Upon termination of services, we will delete or return all student data upon request.

Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect the information stored in this system, including:

  • Every connection to the site is encrypted (the padlock in your browser's address bar)
  • Passwords are stored scrambled in a way that cannot be reversed, so no one, including us, can read them
  • Each person signs in to their own account and sees only what their role allows
  • Forms on the site are protected, so another website cannot send them in your name

No system is completely secure. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify affected parties as required by applicable law.

Children's Privacy

This system is used in connection with tutoring services for students of varying ages, which may include minors under 13. We collect only the minimum information necessary to deliver tutoring services. Parent or guardian consent is obtained as part of the enrollment process with the tutoring company. If you believe a minor's information has been collected without appropriate consent, please contact us immediately.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you or your child
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your or your child's records

To exercise these rights, contact us at support@student-trajectory.com.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
